Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate the significance and the role of Islamic banks in financing the agricultural sector and providing employment opportunities while combating poverty. To do this, the descriptive, analytical, and historical approach was relied upon by presenting and analysing the theoretical framework of Islamic banks and highlighting their role in financing the agricultural sector while providing employment opportunities and fighting poverty, beside a presentation of financial indicators during the period 2016-2022. It was concluded that Islamic banks play an effective role through Islamic financing tools in agricultural financing and absorption of unemployment rates and reduction in poverty rates, due to their ability to attract funds and direct them towards financing and investment.  This is also considered a change and qualitative development for the Islamic financial industry in Algeria and achieving economic growth.
