The services sector and trade and opportunities to strengthen the Algerian national economy
Keywords:
Services sector; Trade in services; Economic diversification; Algeria.Abstract
This study aims to investigate the role of the commerce and services sector in supporting the Algerian economy, with an emphasis on economic diversification and minimizing over-reliance on oil resources. This sector has experienced faster global expansion than traditional sectors such as industry and agriculture, making it an important driver of development. The report illustrates the state's attempts to promote the trade and services sector in Algeria, as well as its impact on GDP, in order to increase economic independence. However, despite the country's abundant natural and human resources, outcomes remain below expectations, underscoring the need for more efficient investment to boost the sector's contribution to the national economy.
