Performance evaluation of banks using the CAMELS Model: A case study of the national bank of Algeria (2022–2023)

This article addresses one of the most important topics in evaluating bank performance, focusing on the discussion of bank performance assessment using the CAMELS method. This method is considered one of the most advanced and modern tools employed by developed banks to predict and evaluate financial risks. It utilizes a set of indicators, criteria, and model-based approaches to prevent financial crises and mitigate their occurrence in the future. Additionally, it is regarded as an effective approach that ensures a conducive environment for banks to operate within the framework of transparency and oversight currently in use.
