The role of tourism and travel agencies in revitalizing desert tourism in Algeria
A case study of El Oued Province

The study aims to highlight the role played by travel and tourism agencies in revitalizing desert tourism in the state of El Oued. These agencies are considered as intermediaries between the tourist destination and the tourists through their activities, which include providing tourism services, organizing tourist programs, and promoting desert tourism. The objective is to stimulate desert tourism and, consequently, attract tourists to have a unique experience. The study relies on a survey questionnaire distributed to a number of managers and employees of tourism agencies in the state of El Oued, with a total of 80 questionnaires distributed and 60 valid ones returned for analysis. The study utilizes a descriptive and analytical approach, and one of the key findings is the significant impact of the activities of travel and tourism agencies in revitalizing desert tourism in the state of El Oued, with a determination coefficient (R2= 0.470.(The study recommends the necessity of having flexible pricing strategies that cater to all segments of society.
