Abstract

This research paper aims to search for the causal relationship between government spending and economic diversification in Algeria during the period 1990-2022. Relying on frequencies causal in addition to analyzing the herrfendall-hirschman economic diversification index using the cluster analysis method. The results of the cluster analysis showed that the Algerian government was able to achieve economic diversification during the study period, which was classified into clusters according to the Herrfendal Hirschman index, the results of the frequency causality test showed the existence of a causal Relationship in the short term, heading from the  herrfendal-hirschman towards government spending, with the absence of relationship in the opposite direction in the long-term, medium-term, and short-term the period 1990-2022.
